Reuben wins again!

Club member Reuben Gahan continued his winning form on Friday night when he notched up his second win in one week. He was in action this week at the Billericay ABC open show where he recorded an impressive win over Eltham and District ABC’s Shaquille Day.

Mixed Fortunes in Local Derbys

Two Colchester Amateur Boxing Club members had mixed fortunes on Friday night. Reuben Gahan and Liam Hanrahan both boxed at a show run by Harwich Amateur Boxing Club at the Western Holmes Community Stadium in Colchester on the 21^st January. The show was a twelve bout thriller with Reuben boxing second on the bill and Liam closing the show.

Colchester ABC had a mixed start to 2011 as two boxers travelled to Brentwood on Saturday 15^th January to compete in the Canvey ABC open show. George Bird was facing Canvey boxer Sam Mitchell and Ryan Frost was making his debut against Dale Youth’s Lorenzo Grasso.

Three of the team were in action at the annual Harwich open show at the weekend. The December show usually brings some degree of success to Colchester boxers and this year the large following were not disappointed when they got to see George Bird, “Jerzy” Dudek and Jack Karadzic in action.

New Season

CABC boxers are geared up and about to commence the 2010/11 season. All boxers and club members have been working hard through the summer and training diligently. The new training schedule, devised by the coaches last season, appears to be reaping rewards and within the next week or so the club will have more than ten boxers ready to compete. Many more have moved through the beginners sessions, gained National Skills Awards, and are striving to move on to competition standard.
